The headscratching continues. Can someone, anyone, explain to me why Brett Carroll was chosen to replace Gomez on the roster? He's got a career .609 OPS in the majors, is way more of a corner outfielder than CF, and is considerably worse at his spot than three, yes three, other players on his team in Nashville, not to mention at lease one or two others in the Brewers system.
Oh, it's because he's more right-handed than Brandon Boggs. Good call, Brewers. Better be sure to get that .669 OPS against lefties platoon player on your team. Try Khris Davis. He's right handed.
Seriously, what the hell causes these decisions? They have to do something. Say what you will about Gomez, but he was the only fielder on the team who even rated as average, and as a strictly platooned player he was useful. Carroll is completely useless.
Serious question: Morgan doesn't rate out as average?
