Fucking roster me you Communists

DiFelice got optioned back to AAA today with no corresponding roster move yet. They could bring up Hirohito as he looks to be fully healed, but with two recent days off and some long efforts from the rotation, the Brewers can afford to go short handed in the pen for a few days while significantly improving their DH situation. Gamel hit his 18th HR of the year on Sunday, or, more home runs than Kockspray has hit since the start of the 2009 season.

The Brewers are calling up Braddock because they need the lefty reliever.
I'm not sure what your problem is here. The Brewers will need the extra arm in the pen for this series. More to the point, Kotsay has his slugging percentage up to .279, and he can handle the DH duties the next 6 days with no problem.
The Brewers just don't have any roster room to bring up Gamel. I mean, who would you drop? Kotsay?! He doesn't have any options! Without a doubt some other team will nab him immediately. Plus he's only 4 days away from earning a roster incentive bonus, which he richly deserves. Seems a little unfair, and may I say fishy, to drop him now. Plus then you don't have a natural third center fielder on the team.
You can't send Kottaras down because then you don't have a backup catcher. Without Wilson and Counsell, you're thin on the infield. You need all the pitching you can get against the Yankees. So, the decision is simple. Stay the course. Kotsay DHes, Gamel gets some more seasoning in Triple-A.
They could probably send Weeks down because he has a couple options left, but his bat is just so much better than Counsell's at second that I don't think they can afford to do that. So, you're out of luck, Gamel Fan #1.
I . . . was that sarcasm?
Ideally they cut Kotsay and bring up Gamel, and send Gamel down for Boggs when the AL road stint is finished.
But then again, ideally you never pinch hit Kotsay for Lucroy, ever, so there's that...
Yeah, that was sarcasm. I'm really good at it.
Let me cut through my own bullshit for a sec. Here's what you do. You cut Kotsay and Counsell immediately. You call up Braddock, Gamel and Taylor Green. If calling up Gamel is still an issue, call up Boggs. If you don't want to promote Green, call up Saito and strengthen the bullpen. With a real hitter called up, you don't need many bench bats the next 6 games.
Just get Kotsay off the team immediately. Other than looking like Chris Elliot, I don't know at all what Kotsay contributes. And do something so that your two backup infielders aren't the same terrible player with a pop-gun offensive game. It may not seem like much, but these simple changes would have significant results - I'd guess at least a 2-game swing in the standings if taken for the rest of the year.
Is it just me, or does Ron Roenicke look like Luther from the old television show Coach.
Roenicke Doppleganger.
I may just think that because, like Luther on Coach, Roenicke says and does some awfully imbecilic things.
Thoughts?
Oh, and Gamel is a dead-ringer for McNulty.
Jimmy Gamel McNulty
Holy shit I'm bored.
Gamel looks nothing like McNulty. Good call on Roenicke though. And Bub, you really thought Kotsayscendy was being serious?
No. Of course not. This is the blog, nobody is ever serious.
More to the point, Kotsay has his slugging percentage up to .279, and he can handle the DH duties the next 6 days with no problem
Heh.
I like that 3/5 of us still have Brandon Jennings avatars. Shows how dead it's been around here. Does he still play in Milwaukee?
there we go?
