.093 BAC? You pussy... Brewers vs. Cardinals 8/26-27

Let's hope he manages this series as well as he holds his booze. Seriously La Russa, 2 glasses of wine and a .093 BAC renders you unable to drive/walk/successfully recite the English alphabet??? Well hey, at least he didn't call the cops ch*nks.

But for reals, putting the screws to St. Louis is in this two game series would make for a huge 5.5 game lead down the home stretch. Chat with the mini bub during the games here...hopefully our sperm-eating, pinko commie of a manager doesn't screw this one up.

Worthless Dick Alert

Seriously, a blind man, using nothing more than the sound of a galloping runner and crowd jubilation, and maybe the smell of fresh dirt being kicked up, would not have sent Mike Cameron home on Durham's single. This team continues to think up new ways to be infuriating.

Steve isn't the only one that can have fun . . .

After last night's mysterious 493 pitch outing for Chili Cheese Sabathia, Brewers fans are wondering if any surgeon will be able to reattach the Brewer ace's arm. You may recall me saying that the Brewers should absolutely abuse Sabathia, using him as often as possible and in as big of games as possible. Last night is not what I had in mind. Trotting Sabathia out to pitch a ninth inning when the Brewers had a 7-run lead was nuts. Keeping Sabathia in for the whole inning, after a couple of defensive blunders and with the game still well in hand, well, that's just fucking crazy.
This shows very little foresight by the Brewers manager, Red Yost. Planned properly, Sabathia could have pitched on 3-day's rest against Pittsburgh on Friday. Why is that important? Because then he could have pitched on 4-day's rest against the Cardinals on Wednesday. Sabathia will now very likely miss the two-game Cardinals series. Remember that the Cardinals have by far the best chance of beating the Brewers for the wild card. And remember what Sabathia did against the Cardinals last time he faced them. What should have been Sheets and Sabathia going against the Cardinals is now quite certainly Sheets and Parra. Not bad, but certainly not Sheets and Sabathia. It's little shit like that (oh, and the big factor of fucking with Sabathia's arm for no good reason) that may make the difference in what should be a very close finish for the wild card.
And I'll spare you all the need to ask the question. Yes, it was easier to draw Sabathia's arm falling off than Braun's rib falling out. And yes, Braun should sit every game until Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Weight room!

Welcome to another season of Packer football
It is nice to see the Green and Gold on the field again abliet in a preseason game
You cannot really measure how good a team is in the preseason,
but you can look for things that translate onto any playing field.
I thought the Packers showed tremendous strength as a team on Monday
The WR corps had a good game with Driver freight training cornerbacks and James Jones' amazing touchdown catch and run.

Ryan Grant didn't play and needs to get healthy, but the team got a good look at Brandon Jackson. He really struggled in pass protection and that look A-Rod gave him after the sack was priceless. However, he also did show improved strength and showed some of his big play potential and speed.
As for the D, I thought the first unit did an excellent job stopping the Bengals quickly on the first three drives, despite having four starters out of the game(Pickett, Jolly, Woodson, Harris)
Tramon Williams in particular made a nice play taking a catch away from Chad Johnson
The second and third units looked like, second and third units, but it was nice to see Abdul Hodge running around and hitting people and not looking like a gimp.

So who do the Packers have to thank for this improving strength?

None other than Rock Gullickson. He is the Packers strength and conditioning coach and I belive this little badass' focus on free weights and plyometrics and the players commitment to the official offeseason training program. As opposed the weight machine focused, lighter attended programs under Sherman's regime.

Anyways, it was a pre-season game on Monday and you cannot read too much into the game, but I liked what I saw, particularly Rogers coming out and throwing the ball very hard. Which was a major concern when he was drafted. I am excited to see football again, hopefully the Pack can get healthy and sort out the back end of the roster. I cannot wait for the season to start. Talk about Packers preseason football here.

Reagan Would Not Stand For This

My sentiments exactly, Corky.

Russell Branyan continues to sit against RHP. Therefore, I will continue to mock and humiliate the cause of all this chaos, Ned "Red" Yost, in the overly simplistic, third grade-esque photo shopping style encouraged by all at BCS.

Fucking Play Me You Communist

Russell Branyan reportedly donned his old Indians uniform this weekend and broke a bat over his knee, pretending all the while that it was his Pinko manager's spine. Ned Yost, consider yourself warned.
