Mazel Tov

Hi, I'm Milwaukee Brewers' left fielder Ryan Brown. I just wanted to take a moment to wish Brew City Sports a happy third birthday. Brew City Bub is thanking me for my endorsement by promising not to digitally remaster this picture. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must turn my attention to the third base coach. I could have sworn I just saw a 'bunt' sign.

Sometimes you're watching a game and you see something you can't help but talk about. I watch so much baseball that I'm seldom amazed by anything in the game. However, CC Sabathia performance against Albert Pujols tonight was amazing. Pujols is the second best hitter to have ever played the game (Bonds obviously the best). Sabathia made him throw his bat at the ball, striking out on 4 pitches in the ninth. I have never and I doubt I will ever see Pujols look that bad in an AB again. That was amazing.

Special thanks to Bill and Brian for pointing out that Jason Kendall pitched a shutout tonight.

CC Sabathia has allowed four more runs than he has driven in so far for the Brewers. What the fuck is his problem?

Also, Bubsbrother and I noticed the same thing. He constantly mentioned Sabathia's stones for going after Sabathia.

...going after Pujols. In the 6th I believe there were RISP and CC went at Pujols with two straight strikes, the second of which was a fastball high and in. I'd imagine his balls comprise about 15% of his 290 some lbs of manly awesomeness.

Although Brian and Bill jinxed his no no, they did point out several times that Pujols is the best hitter in baseball against left handed pitchers. That thrown bat in the 9th was the icing on the cake of Pujols' 0-4 night.

Now, the Braun bunt...was that a "look how deep the 3rd baseman is playing, I think I'll just drop one over there" or "ok kid, fuckface is calling bunt from the locker room."

Condy,

I was just coming over here to post the exact same thing. Pujols, easily the best hitter in the National League, just looked like Neifi Perez for 3 ABs against Sabathia, and the last AB he basically exclaimed "FUCK IT - YOU WIN." Amazing stuff.

And what would a BCS post be without bringing up something negative about the Brewers?

I give you: PLAY RUSSELL BRANYAN AGAINST RIGHT HANDED PITCHERS YOU MOTHERFUCKING SADISTIC COCK KNOB OF A MANAGER.

For those that don't check this every morning when you go to work, you oughta do so today. It's not too often that you see a 35% swing in a seven day period four months into the season, but it should give the rest of you an idea of exactly how impactful these last three wins have been. Essentially, the Brewers chances of making the playoffs have doubled on this winning streak. Had the Cubs lost last night, that number would be closer to 40. I'd feel much more comfortable, though, if the Brewers had been disposing of the Cards in the same manner that they disposed of the Giants.

I typically scan this for funny names, and here's what I found this week:

Q: Michael McCarter of Milwaukee - Hello, I'm a big-time Brewer fan in Wisconsin. I like the trade for C.C. Sabathia because I would like to see this team compete for a post-season birth and perhaps the National League Central Division Title and a World Series Championship so they can end the longest drought at Miller Park. After this season, who would you like to re-signed? C.C. Sabathia and/or Ben Sheets? What does it take for this team to repeat as champs in Milwaukee Brewers territory? What needs to be done here to take this team to the next level? We need a championship parade all over the Brewer nation. Where's the championship dynasty ever going to come to Downtown Milwaukee. Can we get there? Yes or no?

That's Freeway, folks. BCS poll- What's more surprising? 1) Freeway is literate 2) Freeway knows about the internet.

Notice how bat-shit crazy every single sentence is?

>>What does it take for this team to repeat as champs in Milwaukee Brewers territory? <<

What does that possibly mean? You can tell he just wanted to propose the question about Ben Sheets vs. CC Sabathia, but got completely carried away.

I really, really want to believe that was freeway, but the cynic in me thinks that it was somebody pretending to be freeway. I guess that answers your poll questions.

Honest question: was that the best series the Brewers have ever played? A four game sweep of our primary competition for a playoff spot, 3 games of which were won in dramatic fashion, and the fourth was an unfathomably dominant performance by the team's most recent acquisition.
