Brewers vs. Butt Pirates July 2-5, 2007
07/02 - J. Suppan vs. J. Van Benschoten. WP C. Villanueva (6-0), 4 IP, 2 hits, and 5K.
07/03 - C. Capuano vs. S. Youman
07/04 - C. Vargas vs. I. Snell
07/05 - B. Sheets vs. T. Gorzelanny
For those of you who are stuck at work this week, a few afternoon games might make the day go a bit quicker. Tuesday and Wednesday's games are 3:05 pm starts and Thursday's game is at 11:35 am. The Chubs are playing the Nationals, so the Brewers have to be thinking sweep here, but I'm thinking we'll only pull off three wins.

Is Ryan Howard an All-Star? I thought he was left off, until I read that he's competing in the derby. I thought only All-Stars could participate.
If not, why aren't Dunn and Hafner there?
Howard isn't an All Star...maybe because he won last year they let him come again this year.
Back to the Brewers, I hope we play Miller until his arthritis kicks in (we won't) and I'm looking forward to seeing how Capuano handles his first start back seeing as his last 5 were pretty awful.
All I have to say is Chuck V is a fucking porn star of a baseball player, and if he's not in the rotation either in August or by next Spring there is something wrong.
Well, this is the worst game the Brewers have played all year... Worst fielding by far and the pitching (although the errors are unnerving) was still pretty shitty from "Copuano" as the Pirates announcers call him and Gallardo. Yeah, there's still three innings left in today's game, but the Brewers lead on the division is as good as 5.5 games right now.
Weather report says thunderstorms all day...sounds like today's game could be cancelled.
I don't like to be a pessimist, but the Brewers have sucked in the last week. Everyone of their starters has been figured out by the scouts and their good outings are becoming increasingly infrequent. They're throwing too many balls and getting behind in the count and serving up homeruns. The Brewers at the plate are becoming more impatient and letting the opposing pitchers out of innings by throwing less than 10 pitches. And the defense, well, it will finally start costing them some games. I know they don't play well in Chicago and Pittsburgh, and both of those teams are pretty decent this year, but this has been quite discomforting. Do all of you still think the Brewers are a lock to make the playoffs, because I really have my doubts. If they don't win the series against the Nationals, then expect them to go into the Allstar break with a dwindling 3.5 game lead on the cubs. Keep in mind that the Brewers historically tend to have shitty Julys.
