I sense some really close votes in this round. I hope other people share my immense hatred of that slew of middle relievers that the Brewers were forced to call upon in May-July.

I honestly can't believe cordero got a vote.

Over Geremi Gonzalez, too. It's not like he was facing Ohka or someone who is generally liked. I am shocked as well. Not that Cordero shouldn't be hated. He should. He's a Brewer.

That's true. I kinda liked him as a Ranger, but as soon as he threw on this uniform . . .

What bugs me the most about Geremi Gonzalez (besides how he can't spell Jeremy like a normal person) is that he is the culmination of that entire year of Enrique Cruz we had to endure at the major league level. As mother loving impotent as some players have been for the brewers over the years (Mench, Nix, Bennett, Clayton, Moeller, Magruder) Cruz 03 has to be the most aggrivated I have ever been by a Milwaukee Brewer. And what do we have to show for it? Oh, we turned him into Geremi Gonzalez. Fart.

I have no doubt that Geremi Gonzalez would have an ERA over 6 if given the opportunity to pitch 140+ innings.

Bando Division:
5. D. Anderson (close call because of residual hate from seasons past).

11. D. Davis
7. G. Gonzalez
9. T. Ohka

Taylor Division:
5. A. Simpson
11. B. Sheets
10. J. Capellan
8. R. Helling

I can't force myself to vote for a position player over a pitcher. I hate the Brewers' pitchers. What's with all the hate for Shouse? Doesn't anybody hate Helling as much as I do?

I don't remember what the matchups are for next round, but I don't see any of these guys, save for geremi gonzalez, winning in the next round

I hate Helling a lot less than most other Brewers just because I'm always comparing him to other Brewer bullpen arms. Like most (8) vs. (9) matchups, the Helling/Shouse battle is going to be a really good one.

Another vote for Cordero. Very interesting.

I'm also very surpirsed that T voted for Sarfate over Davis. T you hate Davis more than anyone. I guess this shows how much we all hate the random bullpen arms like Sarfate. I like your vote T.

BCB and others, when do you want me to post the Franklin and Kinney Division First Rounds?

At 10:27 PM, September 18, 2006, Blogger Brew City Bub said...

wait til we hear from e and kerry, and possibly nate and carlson.

I'd like to see them tomorrow. People can always scroll down and choose their Bando and Taylor picks at the same time as their Franklin/ Kinney picks.

I am not going to have much opportunity to post the other divisions tomorrow, so I'm going to do it tonight. It looks like we're getting immediate feedback, so there's no reason to wait around.

How is Yost nowhere on any of these brackets? Last time I checked, he's more of a Brewer than Carlos Lee. Poor management on the part of whoever put these together, I say.

actually, we discussed having a coaching/management hate off, too. We can pretty much forgo most of the actual tournament, where Dan O'brien and Dale Sveum would face off in the semis for the right to face Ned Yost in the finals. If you want that, we're all ears.

Current tallies:

Davis 6-2
Gonzalez 6-2
Ohka 6-2
Simpson 5-3
Hardy 6-2
Capellan 7-1 (scary that this guy could be our closer without cordero)
Shouse and Helling are tied at four. We really need Erik's vote on this one.

Helling with a thoroughly stunning comeback! That's what the Hate-off is all about! Let's see if his run can continue.

I see no real surprises with the other choices. A little more surprised people didn't hate Damian Miller more. He has had a truly awful season. So has Capellan I guess. Too bad they both can't win.
